Our advice is always to replace damaged components with the correct specified manufacturer approved part. This view is endorsed by SEMA and set out in their various codes of practice where they clearly state that damaged components cannot be repaired and should always be replaced with the correct manufacturer approved part.

But do beware when ordering a replacement part - you cannot always assume that the part already fitted is the correct part so check with a SEMA professional first!

And by the way, if you do try and repair a damaged part instead of replacing it then not only are you likely to void any manufacturer's warranty but you could to be held liable in the event of a rack failure. Why take the risk???
